Foodholic
In 2015, while still in college, I founded Foodholic, an initiative aimed at revolutionizing the street food industry in India. Our goal was to address the longstanding issues of hygiene and safety associated with street food, while also improving the livelihoods of street food vendors.
Street food has always been a cornerstone of Indian culinary culture, yet it often suffers from perceptions of being unhygienic and unsafe. Recognizing this gap, my team and I set out to create an eco-friendly, fully electric food cart that would not only ensure better hygiene standards but also enhance the overall dining experience.
Our Foodholic carts were designed with several innovative features to tackle these challenges:
-
Hygiene-focused Design: Equipped with chimneys for smoke exhaust, clean water systems for cooking andwashing, and protection from road dust, our carts ensured that the food served was as safe as it was delicious.
-
Eco-Friendly Solutions: We integrated eco-friendly night lights and inbuilt dustbins to support cleaner streets, aligning with the Indian Government's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

-
Vendor Empowerment: The carts provided ample storage and security, including safe lockers for cash handling, and were available in both manual and fully electric models to ease the daily operations of street vendors.
