Operations Intern - Roder

Roder launched in December 2014 by 3 IIT Kharagpur alumni Abhishek Negi, Ashish Rajput, and Siddhant Matre aims to organize and bring transparency and affordability to intercity cab booking service. The startup had generated a GMV of over a crore by fulfilling 500 rides on a monthly basis, with an average ticket size of Rs 5,500. The company aimed to create a new market for outstation cab services. The demand for booking one-way rides via Roder's platform had grown from 5% to 70%. The company had raised around 250K USD in the seed round and wasn't able to raise series A because of Uber and Ola's entry into the intercity market and as a result, the company stopped its operations in 2017.

Joined the startup as an Intern in 2016 when the company was trying to raise series A. The founding team was under high pressure because of drying funds.

  • Provided customer support via phone to incoming customer queries and issues.

  • Manually assigned a new booking to a driver from our database and shared the details of the booking with drivers and customers.

  • Helped the company to upload data (agreements, agency information, and driver data) to the cloud as most of it was offline earlier. One f the reasons why the company wasn't able to scale.

  • Onboarded and signed agreements with 50+ cab agencies in two months. Thus adding 300 more cars to the company's existing fleet.
